Did you know Canada.. I wanted to look at another Canadian invention today – the IMAX!! Canadians Graeme Ferguson, Roman Kroitor, Robert Kerr, and William C. Shaw developed the IMAX system in 1968. IMAX is a motion picture film format and a set of proprietary cinema projection standards, IMAX increases the resolution of the image by using a much larger film frame. IMAX theatre construction also differs significantly from conventional theatres. The increased resolution allows the audience to be much closer to the screen. You’ve probably been to a few different style of IMAX screens. ‘Avatar: An IMAX 3D Experience’ is the all-time highest grossing IMAX release; the worldwide IMAX box office total for the film climbed to more than $220 million since the movie’s launch in December 2009. Very exciting and a great Canadian invention Read more →
Did you know Canada.. you’ll remember we spent Mother’s Day weekend in Niagara Falls, we lucked out with amazing weather and such a great time. We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls which is in a fabulous location just a short walk from Clifton Hill, with a fantastic view of the Niagara SkyWheel.
After a simple and friendly check-in, we stayed in one of Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls amazing Family Suites. I don’t know if I can every travel again without staying in a room like this. This oversized, two-room suite has a large “bedroom” with two Queen size beds and a second living room with sitting area and pullout sofa. Both rooms have a TV and standard amenities such as coffee, coffee machine, iron, ironing board, in-room safe, etc. The bathroom is in between the 2 rooms with a long hall way, it’s just amazing for my family of 5 and can easily sleep up to 8.
After checking in and checking out the room, we headed to Clifton Hill for a fun afternoon and to Niagara Falls for the Journey Behind the Falls Tour which was amazing!
Back to the hotel for dinner, we dined at The Keg that’s attached to the Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls – the staff was soooooo nice, especially with the kids, bring a sweet appetizer tray for the kids to snack on. After an amazing dinner with garlic toast, steaks and a caesar to drink, we headed to the hotel pool. I loved being able to just run up to the room to change the kids instead of driving to and from dinner out. The pool area was very clean, lots of towels available and lots of fun to be had! The kids splashed and played and had an amazing time, including baby Lucas!
The second day started out fantastic as we headed back to The Keg for a beautiful buffet breakfast, they had every thing you could think of – sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, a chef to cook omelettes just how you like them, toast, hashbrowns, pastries, yogurt, fruit and more. It was the perfect meal before we headed back to Clifton Hill for a last visit then a simple check out before heading to the Butterfly Conservatory.
A beautiful weekend with my family, a fantastic place to stay, I will recommend the Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls and especially their family suite to everyone, it’s perfect for your families next trip to Niagara Falls!
