Did you know Canada.. I wanted to look at another Canadian invention today – the IMAX!! Canadians Graeme Ferguson, Roman Kroitor, Robert Kerr, and William C. Shaw developed the IMAX system in 1968. IMAX is a motion picture film format and a set of proprietary cinema projection standards, IMAX increases the resolution of the image by using a much larger film frame. IMAX theatre construction also differs significantly from conventional theatres. The increased resolution allows the audience to be much closer to the screen. You’ve probably been to a few different style of IMAX screens. ‘Avatar: An IMAX 3D Experience’ is the all-time highest grossing IMAX release; the worldwide IMAX box office total for the film climbed to more than $220 million since the movie’s launch in December 2009. Very exciting and a great Canadian invention Read more →
Did you know Canada.. I am a Hockey Mom! You probably already knew that, especially if you follow me on any social media where I often share pictures from the rink. Our 13/14 season just ended up don’t think hockey ends there! Coming up in April we have power skating for 8 weeks and lots of stick handling practice at home playing street hockey.
Hockey is a big commitment, there’s no doubt about it, you’re either in or your out, but once you’re in you’re in the hockey family. With some other sports (my boys play baseball in the summer too), especially at a young age, it’s a hit and miss on everyone showing up, you’re there to learn but nothing is too serious, but hockey, HOCKEY, is an all in sport, it’s a lifestyle to be up at 5am for practice, cold rinks and a coffee in hand. Cheering for your kids, cheering for other people’s kids too! Watching games, feeling the surge of excitement during a break away, yelling, pounding the glass, it’s just an instinct I think and it’s an amazing feeling.
Hockey can’t just happen though, it takes support from the whole family, the whole town! And P&G wants to celebrate The House That Mom Built – visit thehousethatmombuilt.ca to celebrate a Mom you know and join us on March 27th at 9pm EST on Twitter with hashtag #HockeyMomCA to chat hockey, Moms and what goes into building this house.
